    As standard, all fire dampers are designed and certified to comply with EI-S performance attributes. PK-I fire dampers are intended to be embedded into fire partition walls. Installation of these units is described in the Installation, Operation and Maintenance manual for square and circular fire dampers PP28_PKI_EN.pdf. As standard, all dampers can be supplied with a manual actuator, optional accessories, e.g. microswitches, electromagnets, or a servo-driven actuator and communication control units. Detailed description regarding individual models can be found in TPI28_PKI_EN.pdf.

    Servo-driven Fire Dampers
    Fire dampers can be equipped with a servo that closes the damper blade on demand of the Building Management System or based on a signal received from the thermoelectric fuse. Servo fitted fire dampers are standardly equipped with an electrothermal fuse which, when having reached or exceeded the ambient temperature of 72°C with a tolerance of ±1.5°C, activates the servo and closes the damper blade within 20 seconds.

    Function
    The function of the fire damper is to stop the spread of fire, flames and smoke. Dampers with fusible link remain in an open position until the fuse is broken when reaching 72°C ± 1,5°C. After reaching this temperature the blade closes. Electrical actuators can also close the blade when called upon from a control system or BMS system, for example through the use of smoke detectors.

    Design
    Fire damper casings are made of galvanized steel sheets and the blades are made of calcium silicate boards (asbetstos free). Each fire damper has a mechanism which can be electrical 24V, 230V, manual or with electro-magnetic release.

    Installation

    Fire dampers can be installed into rigid or flexible fire safe partition walls and ceilings and are connected directly to the duct.

    EACH FIRE DAMPER MUST BE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO INSTALLATION MANUAL!
